Transalis design solutions that enhance the digital connectivity between businesses in order to optimise supply chains.
Established businesses are facing new threats from previously unknown competitors via technology. In today’s ever-changing marketplace, we need to find ways to add value to our clients whilst ensuring we are as competitive as possible across all areas of the business. The changing habits of consumers and B2B buyers means those businesses that do not adopt technological change will suffer as their competition storm ahead.
At Transalis our digital transformation process is designed to create new digital service offerings with sustainable profit models, networks, and service performances by identifying the issues that matter to our clients and working through them systematically to deliver great digital solutions.
Digital Clouds
Private Clouds are infrastructures operated as a Digital Managed Service, solely implemented for individual Transalis clients. These clients typically have large digital supply chain enablement programmes with Transalis and a dedicated range of digital services, technological and infrastructure resources.
Hybrid Clouds are a composition of two or more clouds that remain distinct entities, operated as separate Digital Managed Services, but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple deployment models. Hybrid clouds offer our clients the ability to connect colocation, managed and other dedicated services with other cloud digital resources.
Multi-Cloud is the use of multiple clouds and digital services in a single heterogeneous architecture, where our clients can reduce reliance on single clouds and increase flexibility. It differs from hybrid clouds as it refers to multiple cloud services, rather than multiple deployments.
IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) is the cloud service model providing machines or virtual machines with the ability to scale services up and down according to our clients’ requirements, supplied on demand. For global connectivity, clients use either the internet or virtual private networks.
aPaaS (application Platforms as a Service) is the cloud service model including operating systems, API’s, programming languages, execution environments, databases and web servers so our clients can run software solutions on a cloud platform, without the cost and complexity of buying and managing the underlying hardware and software layers.
SaaS (Software as a Service) is the cloud service model where we install and operate application software in the cloud and our clients access the digital services from the cloud and we manage the cloud infrastructure and platform where the application runs. This eliminates the need to install and run the application on our clients’ own computers, which simplifies maintenance and support. Our digital cloud applications are different from other applications in their scalability, which can be achieved by cloning tasks onto multiple virtual machines at run-time to meet changing work demands. Load balancers distribute the work over the set of virtual machines. This process is transparent to our clients, who see only a single access point.
The Internet of Things (IoT)
We are interested in developing and working with Internet-connected services and devices. Gartner predicts the number of connected things in use will hit 14.2 billion in 2019, and grow to 25 billion by 2021
The Transalis EDI network and our innovative B2B Cloud Managed Solutions form part of a dynamic global cloud network infrastructure with self-configuration capabilities based on standard and interoperable communication protocols where physical and virtual “things” will use digital services with intelligent interfaces to seamlessly integrate big data into information network communities.
Dynamic and Self-Adapting Transalis solutions will have the capability to dynamically adapt to changing contexts and take actions based on operating conditions, user context or sensed environment. Self-Configuring Transalis solutions will allow a large number of digital services and devices to work together to set up networks, fetch latest software upgrades and pre-empt system failures to provide service continuation with minimal manual or user intervention.
Transalis solutions will support interoperable communication protocols to communicate with multiple other connected devices and services that can dynamically discover and automatically connect with each other.
Transalis B2B Cloud Managed Solutions are the development of intelligent applications to make retail, logistics, manufacturing, processes and systems control and many other areas of business – smarter.
